Landscape architecture is a complex concept that includes the spatial organization of territory, the combination of natural, building, and architectural components into a unified composition that carries aesthetic significance and a certain artistic image. It is a field of architecture and a comprehensive form of art that studies the composition of the environment, the principles of organizing landscapes in urban and suburban areas.

One of the main tasks of landscape architecture is to provide a territory with an artistic appearance using landscape components, especially plants, natural materials, relief, and climate.

The article explores the role of landscape architecture in creating harmonious relationships between humans and the surrounding nature, as well as the importance of conserving natural resources. It presents examples of projects where landscape architecture contributes to improving ecological conditions and quality of life, examines the role of landscape architects, and discusses the potential use of modern technologies.

The practical significance of the research lies in the fact that, based on theoretical knowledge and key approaches to the ecological, biological, and decorative properties of woody plants, specialists will be able to:

– Professionally select assortments for landscape architecture projects in urbanized and industrial areas;

– Develop recommendations for creating sustainable plant communities in urban environments, considering the fundamental principles of selecting woody plants;

– Quality develop project documentation for various landscape architecture objects: situational, master, dendrological, general plans, layout, and planting drawings;

– Compose various landscape compositions using vegetation, water features, landforms, small architectural forms, decorative coverings, and more.
