IMPROVEMENT OF THE SYSTEM FOR CLEANING DUST GAS FLOWS USING AN AERODYNAMIC INSERT

Air pollution is becoming a problem due to inefficient technological processes that accompany the mechanical processing of solid materials in various industries, including metalworking and woodworking, coal enrichment, coal burning in thermal power plants, metallurgy and construction materials industries. The problem is relevant for cement factories, since some of them use outdated equipment. Fine dust in this context becomes particularly important because the particle size of this dust affects the quality and grade of the concrete produced.

CONDITION AND QUALITY OF THE AIR OF THE CHERNIVTSI REGION

The question of rating of the condition of the air in the regions of Ukraine is very relevant. An important component is the choice of the optimal rating method. The purpose of the work is to review methodological approaches to the rating of the condition of atmospheric air (on the example of the city of Chernivtsi). The results of the calculation of CAPI and I5 showed that the maximum was noted in 2017 due to abnormally high concentrations of phenol, the minimum was in 2018.

Development of a Needle Trap Device Packed with HKUST-1 Sorbent for Sampling and Analysis of BTEX in Air

In this study, we developed a needle trap device packed with HKUST-1 (Cu-based metal-organic framework) for the sampling and analysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) in ambient air for the first time. The HKUST-1 was synthesized via the electrochemical process. Afterwards, the adsorbent was packed into 22 gauge needles. To provide the different concentrations of BTEX, the syringe pump was connected to the glass chamber to inject a specific rate of the BTEX compounds.

The article shows the importance of ensuring that the air of small-size rooms at private production facilities where equipment is arranged densely has specified parameters. Theoretical grounds of ventilation performance evaluation are considered. It is pointed out that a power saving air distributor ensuring a prompt cease of the airflow has not been developed yet. The advisability of air delivery to the room’s working area is stressed. The using of low-speed panel-section air distributors in a private production facility room is considered.
