FEATURES OF THE CREATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF UNIVERSITY EXTENSION IN ENGLAND AND THE USA AT THE END OF THE 19TH - BEGINNING OF THE 20TH CENTURY

At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the world faced unprecedented changes driven by the rapid development of technology, industrialization, and growing urbanization. Technological progress impacted all aspects of life, particularly the social structure, economy, and culture. Millions of people moved to cities in search of new jobs, where new work opportunities were available, but they also encountered challenges associated with rapid industrial development.

AGGLOMERATION PROCESSES OF BALANCED DEVELOPMENT OF SUBURBAN AREAS OF LARGE UKRAINIAN CITIES

The article is a result of an analytical research on development of relations between the
city and suburban area. An attempt to define main factors that may be included into a future
strategy of balanced development and to avoid a number of problems in the organization of group
forms of settlement in the big cities' influence zone. The decentralization processes in the
governance system constitute the social and economic potential for creation of a system of
common interests in development, and not for destruction of both cities and suburban area.

INTENSIFICATION OF BUILDING THE TERRITORY OF A HISTORICAL FORMED CITY USING THE EXAMPLE OF LVIV

The article deals with the process of intensification of the urban territory of a historically formed city. The quarters of residential developments of different periods are analyzed and the indicators of density are determined. The urban transformations of a city canvas, which influence the changes in the density indices and their inter-dependence were investigated.
