The article deals with the problem of studying the system of terminological concepts of ethnophraseology as a new direction of phraseology research. The basis of ethnophraseology formation and its main study components are described. Definitions of terms denoting ethno-phraseology concepts are given, namely those of ethnophraseological unit, ethnophraseological combination and performative ethnophraseological unit. The focus is on the idea that in the centre of ethnophraseology there is interpretation of mental, actional and verbal sections of cultural space that are represented by ethnophraseological units; scenarios for their formation were myths, rituals, customs, beliefs, oaths, curses and etiquette formulas.

The rapid development of phraseology in new aspects and areas has contributed to the spread of phraseological terminology. The terminological system adopted in modern phraseology requires detailed analysis and systematization of basic terminological concepts.

The active process of revival of the spiritual culture, which is preserved in collective memory and reflected on verbal level by ethnophraseological units, has created preconditions for the emergence of a new area of modern linguistics called ethnophraseology. The aim of this research is representation of terminology for the research of ethnophraseological fund in terms of the new area of ethnophraseology, whose metalanguage is in the process of linguistic formation and concept definition.

Modeling of a fragment of phraseologic picture of the world – ethnophraseological picture of the world – is interlinked with ethnocompound elements of the ethnic picture of the world and is based on linguistic and extralinguistic factors. Definitions of terms denoting ethnophraseologic concepts are given, for example ethnophraseological unit, ethnophraseologized combination, performative ethnophraseological unit. To denote idioms motivated by the cultural and ethnic element the term ethnophraseological unit is used. It is a special kind of indivisible semantically stable word combinations, ethnically and culturally conditioned mental formations with the component of culture expressed by an ethnolexeme in their structure, or a scenario of a unit image representing acts or ideas specific to a particular ethnic group, whose origin is connected with certain traditions, customs, rituals, superstitions, charms and myths. In this research the ethnophraseologized combination is also distinguished: it is a unit characterized by  reproducibility and stability which reflects fragments of traditions, rituals, customs, forms of leisure or their names that are representants of an ethnic culture. To denote an ethnic and culturally marked word combination with an action in its structure that forms an expression of communicative intent, in which a magical formula of an oath, curse or etiquette expression is reflected, the term performative ethnophraseological unit is used.
