Для оцінювання екологічного впливу вітроенергетичних турбін на довкілля запропоновано застосувати концепцію життєвого циклу альтернативних джерел енергії. За допомогою імітаційного моделювання з використанням програмного забезпечення SimaPro отримано інтегровану систему показників впливів вітроенергетичних систем на яруси і підсистеми компартментів складних ландшафтних комплексів Побудовано дерево процесів для виявлення потенційних впливів, їх характеризації, зважування і ранжування. На основі аналізу різних впливів на довкілля встановлено, що найзначніші наслідки для ярусів підсистем компартментів складного ландшафтного комплексу (СЛК) зазвичай виникають на етапі транспортування, установлення і монтажу вітряних турбін, а також видалення окремих складових чи всієї турбіни після закінченню її експлуатації. Показано, що дослідження лише всіх процесів починаючи від формування і закінчуючи утилізацією ландшафтно-техногенних систем, дасть змогу виявити можливі інтегровані наслідки їх впливу на довкілля.
