Розглянуто клітинні автомати та форми відображення їх еволюції. Відомо і широко використовуються форми еволюції елементарних клітинних автоматів, що дало змогу фахівцям моделювати різні динамічні процеси та поведінку систем різного спрямування. В контексті легкої побудови форми еволюції елементарних клітинних автоматів труднощі виникають у представленні форми еволюції двомірних клітинних автоматів як синхронних так і асинхронних. Еволюція двомірних клітинних автоматів подається множиною станів двомірних форм клітинних автоматів, що ускладнює сприйняття та визначення динаміки зміни станів.
