У статті розглянуто формування і розвиток концепції міста-саду на польських теренах упродовж першої чверті ХХ століття. Висвітлено досвід польської архітектури та урбаністики у контексті ідеї про місто-сад до Першої світової війни і у перші повоєнні роки. Описано приклади реалізованих польських міст-садів, діяльність як окремих діячів, так і цілих товариств та організацій, що займалися пропагуванням концепії міста-саду.

Сенс людського життя – довести свою професійну досконалість у будівництві власної держави. Не замислюємося на тим, а що таке освіта і досконалість. Починати треба зі свого рідного гнізда, населеного пункту, регіону і зі здоровою основою вливатися у державні структури. А що маємо: розграбовані земельні ресурси, надра, історичні пам’ятки, ліси, заповідні території, ріки і озера, а найприкріше – губимо людський професійний ресурс

On the base of the historical and urban studies it is presented the hypothesis that the town of Zhovkva is an example of late Renaissance urbanism and was built at the end of 16th century according to the project based on the concept of ideal city. The towns are characterised with a well-preserved original. Renaissance planning structure and a number of architectural monuments that are connected with it.

The article studies the problem of a gradual change in the direction of urban discourse under the influence of critical -re-considering of the heritage in modernists projecting and the range of social and technological initiatives implemented on the verge of 21st century.

This article presents analyses of thoughts and ideas expressed at the international symposium, which was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of cooperation between the Institute of Architecture of Lviv Polytechnic National University and the Faculty of Architecture and Planning of Vienna University of Technology. The results of cooperation and perspectives of its further development are considered in the context of presented ideas.
