The creation of a digitized empirical base of research on the scientific heritage of the Lviv Polytechnic National University, accumulated during 1939-1941, will give impetus to the activation of multi-faceted scientific exploration, preservation, and popularization of educational, scientific, historical, and cultural traditions not only of the  Lviv Polytechnic National University but also national and international.

The article substantiates the need to improve archival descriptions of permanent storage files during the conversion from printed to electronic format, which is a relevant direction in the development of archival work in the context of digital transformation and the introduction of socio-communication technologies. The process of improving the description of archival documents is traced, which involves clarifying the names of storage units/accounting units, adding the necessary reference apparatus to the description.

У статті проаналізовано особливості організації роботи лабораторій Львівської політехніки упродовж радянського періоду на основі архівних документів. Початок Другої світової війни перервав навчальну і наукову роботу закладу та завдав серйозної шкоди матеріальній базі. Відповідно, процеси відновлення роботи лабораторій, вирішення труднощів їхнього оснащення, розробки напрямів науково-дослідної роботи післявоєнного етапу постають цікавим об’єктом для дослідження.
