Instructions to Authors

REQUIREMENTS FOR ARTICLE SUBMISSION
in the scientific journal

“Veritas: Legal and Psychological-Pedagogical Research”

The article should align with the scope of the scientific journal and reflect the current state of research. It must be relevant and unpublished in other scientific journals. The author is responsible for the accuracy of the presented material, the absence of plagiarism, the validity of conclusions, and the correct citation of sources.

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the editorial board (sent to the editorial office via email). Only articles written in English are accepted for publication. An English-language article must be accompanied by a Ukrainian translation of the following information: author(s), title, affiliation, and abstract.

The length of the article should be 6–10 pages (including tables, graphs, and figures), using font size 11 and 1.1 spacing.

The article structure should include the following sections:

  1. Information about the authors, title, abstract, and keywords in English.
  2. Introduction – Statement of the problem and relevance of the study.
  3. Literature Review – Analysis of recent research and publications.
  4. Purpose – Research objectives and aims.
  5. Methodology – Description of the research methods.
  6. Results and Discussion – Presentation of the main findings and discussion of results.
  7. Conclusions – Summary of findings and prospects for further research.
  8. References – List of cited sources.
  9. Information about the authors, title, abstract, and keywords in Ukrainian.

 

Requirements for Article Formatting

Authors must submit article manuscripts to the journal's editorial board electronically, along with a printed copy on standard A4 paper in both English and Ukrainian.

Articles should be typed in Microsoft Word 97, Word 2003, Word 2010, or Word 2013, following these guidelines:

  1. Document Format (A4 – 210×297 mm):
    • Orientation: Portrait
    • Margins: left – 1.8 cm, right – 2.5 cm, top – 2 cm, bottom – 2.7 cm
    • Text alignment: Justified
    • Page numbering: Bottom center
  2. Main Text Formatting: Font: Times New Roman, size 11. First-line indentation: 1 cm. Line spacing: 1.1
  3. Figures and Graphs: Figures and graphs should be inserted inline with the text, depending on their size. Captions: Times New Roman, size 11, italicized. All figures and graphs must be created as separate objects, formatted to fit the page dimensions. Figures should be labeled and numbered below the image, centered (e.g., Fig. 1). Accepted image formats: .tif, .psd, .jpg (minimum resolution: 300 dpi). Black and white images: Grayscale. Color images: CMYK Color. Figure files must be submitted separately. Black-and-white figures created in Excel, Visio Drawing, WordPad, CorelDRAW should be inserted via: Insert → Object (to allow for editing).
    Color figures should be converted to .tif, .psd, .jpg (300 dpi, CMYK Color) and submitted as separate files. Figures created using Microsoft Word tools must be grouped and remain editable.
    The possibility of printing color illustrations must be agreed upon with the editorial board.
  4. Tables: Tables should be submitted as separate objects in MS Excel or MS Word, formatted to fit the page layout. Table number and title (e.g., Table 1) should be right-aligned, italicized, and in size 11. Table titles should be centered, bold, size 11. Table content (inside cells) should be in size 10.
  5. Equations and Formulas: Formulas should be formatted using Equation 3–5, center-aligned, and numbered in parentheses on the right margin. Font settings (default in MS Word): regular – 11 pt, large index – 9 pt, small index – 8 pt, large symbol – 19 pt, small symbol – 11 pt.
    Formatting rules: Variables should be italicized (e.g., x in sin x). Standard mathematical functions (sin, cos, tg, ctg), constants (Re, Nu, Gr, Ar, Pr, Eu), and operators (rot, div, grad, const) should not be italicized. Greek letters and numbers in formulas should be written in regular (non-italicized) font.
    Indices: written in regular (non-italicized) font if in Ukrainian or Greek alphabets or numbers; written in italicized font if in Latin script. If an index consists of one abbreviation, no period is placed after it. If an index consists of multiple abbreviations, a period is placed only between abbreviations, except for the last one. Dimensional quantities should be written in regular (non-italicized) font. Vectors can be denoted in two ways: either by italicized letter with an arrow above it or by bold, non-italicized letter (e.g., w).
  6. References (Literature):  Authors are responsible for ensuring that the information in each source is complete and accurate. All sources should be numbered sequentially, and source citations in the text should be indicated by numbers in square brackets (e.g., “as discussed by Professor Kelman M. [9]”; as discussed elsewhere [9, p. 10]). All sources should be cited in the text; otherwise, these sources will be automatically removed. Give preference to sources with DOI. Font: Times New Roman, size 10. Referencing style: APA format.
  7. Abstract in Ukrainian: Font: Times New Roman, size 10.

 

Registration Procedure

The procedure for submitting a scientific article to the journal is as follows:

  1. Author(s)' full name – left-aligned, bold.
  2. Affiliation – the name of the institution where the author(s) works should be indicated on a new line (regular font).
  3. Title of the article – written in uppercase, bold, center-aligned, with two line spaces before it.
  4. Copyright information – the copyright symbol (‘©’), followed by the initials and surname of the author(s), should be written in italics, with two line spaces before it.
  5. Abstracts (in English and Ukrainian) – each abstract should be 1,800 characters long and written in italics, with one line space before them. Before the abstract that is not written in the article’s language, the author’s name, surname, affiliation, and article title in Ukrainian must be provided.
  6. Keywords – a list of 5 to 15 keywords should be provided on a new line.
  7. Main body of the article – should be written in single line spacing, regular font.
  8. References – should be formatted in APA style, with single line spacing. Authors are encouraged to use recent Ukrainian and international scientific sources. The minimum number of references is 15.
  9. Author contact details – should be provided after two line spaces.

At the end of the article, on a new page (not included in the total page count), author information should be provided in both Ukrainian and English, including:

  • Full name (surname, first name, and patronymic, if applicable);
  • Academic degree and title;
  • Department and institution where the author is affiliated;
  • Institution’s address;
  • Author’s email address;
  • Author’s contact phone number;
  • ORCID ID.

 

Submission Requirements

The following materials must be submitted to the journal's editorial board:

  1. The article text, formatted in accordance with the specified requirements.
  2. Author information (in Ukrainian and/or English), including: surname and first name (patronymic if applicable), academic degree and title, position and place of work (institution, university), city and country, telephone number and mailing address for receiving a printed copy.
  3. Postgraduate students must also submit a review of the article by their academic supervisor (Doctor/PhD).

Once the editorial board members have reviewed the submitted article and provided a favorable assessment, the author will be informed of its approval for publication. If necessary, the article may be returned for revision.

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication.

Peer Review Process
Each paper is reviewed by two referees engaged by the Editor.

Author Guidelines
The article , written in English (up to 15 pages), should be prepared according to the sample (see here) and sent to veritas@lpnu.ua.
