The question of using by the Russian Federation means and methods of information and psychological influence against Ukraine are considered, the reasons for lack of resistance to these actions are studied, specific approaches to protecting the national information field are suggested.
The definition of information warfare, forms and kinds of information wars, and their action against Ukraine are revealed. The concrete examples of impacts of information and propaganda on different spheres and layers of Ukrainian society are given.
Abstract. Behind the tokens of aggression and intolerance is the will of communicators and «their» understanding of moral values and principles, as well as the concept of freedom of communication and justice. The level of consciousness of the recipient, the speaker – is different: it regulates the maximization or minimization of the choice of communication tools. The maximum level of incorrectness of statements on social networks sometimes reaches administrative offenses – Article 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

The article deals with memes as expressive rhetorical resource in media representations of the Russian-Ukrainian hybrid war and military conflict. It explores textual slogans of Russian propaganda that serve to legitimize external aggression. When these units are mirrored as intertextual material in the Ukrainian counter-discourse, they become critical targets for deconstructing fakes and decontamination of manipulative programs. The network of memetic signs is subordinated to the task of symbolic identification of conflict sides and their objectives.
