COMMUNICATIVE POTENTIAL OF THE PARTICLE “MOVLYAV” IN CONTEMPORARY UKRAINIAN ONLINE MEDIA TEXTS

The relevance of the study is determined by the need to find the means of achieving “multi-voice” media text that are optimal for the implementation of the journalist's communicative tasks; one of such tools is the particle movlyav. The article aims to investigate the communicative potential of the the particle movlyav in modern online media texts in the Ukrainian language, the task is to identify the functions of the particle movlyav, the emotional and evaluative load which it gives to the text.

LANGUAGE TOLERANCE IN THE NAMES OF ELDERLY PEOPLE: POSSIBILITIES OF MEDIA IN THE FORMATION AND DESTRUCTION OF STEREOTYPES

Modern mass media significantly influence the perception of certain social groups. Journalistic standards require adherence to the principle of language tolerance, avoid words and expressions that contribute to the formation of negative stereotypes. In this context, the study of age names used in the media is relevant. This aspect of research on language tolerance is not in the focus of special interest of researchers, in particular, given the deep rootedness of names with pejorative semes in everyday vocabulary in various fields, so speakers do not think about the meaning of tokens.

MUSICAL CONTENT AS A MEDIA TEXT

The relevance of the chosen subject area is determined primarily by the complexity of structural, semantic and communicative organization of the media text phenomenon due to its sign character, plurality of sign systems, correlation of the author and his audience in terms of understanding and decoding textual information, lying in the planes of different approaches to defining the media text concept as well as its analysis.

The language of the media reacts most quickly to changes in public relations, produces and actively uses words that nominate new realities, give them an appreciation. Тhe media not only reflect, but also promote new sociocultural patterns of behavior, they are drivers of changes in the perception and interpretation of social phenomena.

CONTROVERSIAL THEMES AS A CONFLICT’S VARIATION IN SCIENTIFIC JOURNALISM

The covering of scientific controversy is considered as the specifics of scientific journalism. The author considers controversy of the subjects of media texts on science as one of the important ways to highlight the conflicts in journalistic materials. Effective presentation of scientific controversial information in the media serves as a reserve and an instrument for 23 the development and support of interest in science, promotion of scientific knowledge among the general public, and increasing of scientific media literacy.

THE DICHOTOMY OF THE‘ MANIPULATIVE VERSUS COUNTER-MANIPULATIVE IMPACT’: DOES IT EXIST IN THE ENGLISH- WRITTEN MASS MEDIA TEXTS ON CLIMATE CHANGE?

Problem .For all the undisputable good that mass media have afforded the society, they are as well known to be exploiting on a high scale the means of manipulation which results in the public being deceived or told half-truth, information distorted, an individual recipient misled. Elucidating the means and markers of manipulation in a media text constitutes a formidable problem of media linguistics. It cannot be otherwise because it is the nature of manipulation to hide the means of its impact.
