Application of Infrared Spectroscopy and X-Ray Powder Diffractometry for Assessment of the Qualitative Composition of Components in a Pharmaceutical Formulation

A qualitative assessment of a new four-component pharmaceutical composition has been carried out using the methods of infrared spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffractometry. Qualitative characteristics for the identification of mixture components by absorption bands in infrared spectra and characteristic peaks by positions on the scattering angle $2\Theta$ scale in diffractograms were determined.

Obtaining of Coumarone-Indene Resins Based on Light Fraction of Coal Tar. 2. Coumarone-Indene Resins with Epoxy Group

Coumarone-indene resins with epoxy groups (CIRE) have been obtained using light fraction of coal tar or fraction with the distillation range of 423–463 K based on it. Styrene and glycidyl methacrylate were used as modifiers. CIRE were synthesized via radical cooligomerization using monoperoxide derivative of dioxyphenylpropane diglycidyl ether (PO) as an initiator. Thermal stability of PO has been studied. The effect of initiator amount, reaction temperature and time on the yield and softening temperature of CIRE has been determined.

The studies of complex formation of metal borides in the reaction system of epoxidation of 1-octene with tert-butyl hydroperoxide by IR spectroscopy

The complex formation of molybdenum and vanadium borides in the reaction system of 1-octene epoxidation with tert-butyl hydroperoxide by infrared spectroscopic analysis was studied. It was shown that 1-octene formed complex with metal moiety in a case of molybdenum boride and with boron moiety in a case of vanadium boride.

Methods for Determination of Oil and Grease Contents in Wastewater from the Petroleum Industry

Infrared spectrometry and spectrofluorimetry methods were correlated in the measurement of oil concentration in produced water. Furthermore, we compared colorimetry and gravimetry techniques. Adsorption experiments were performed in synthetic oily wastewaters by polymer compounds based on poly(hydroxyethyl acrylamide  and polypropylene. The residual oil content was used in the techniques correlation.
