About the issue of the substantiation of the use of the Chebyshev approximation method in the processing of geodetic measurements

Based on the maximum likelihood method of Fisher, it is shown that in the case of a rectangular distribution of measurement errors, the estimates found by the Chebyshev approximation method are effective.
