The issue of compliance with national standards ensuring an individual’s right to protection in accordance with international standards has been considered. It is noted that one of the primary tasks of modern international law is to ensure international protection of human rights and establish norms regulating relations between states and other subjects of international law. These norms aim to guarantee the rights and freedoms of individuals as provided by international agreements.

The article analyzes the legal status of the jury in the criminal proceedings of Ukraine. It is noted that after gaining independence, the justice system of Ukraine is in fact in a state of constant reform. As a result of the 2016 reform, amendments were made to the Constitution of Ukraine on justice, and a new version of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges” was adopted.

The article is devoted to the issue of interest to scientists and practitioners in the context of the application of a precautionary measure in the form of a personal guarantee — a description of the guarantor's personality as trustworthy. The study of the provisions of current legislation and the results of the scientific work of scientists has reasonably allowed us to draw appropriate conclusions.

The article deals with the issues of criminal proceedings on the basis of agreements and its reforming, that helps to substantially simplify the entire criminal procedure, case decision, by shortening the lag time between the moment of crime and the time when the decision is upheld. However, from the other side we can observe the recession of level in a process of evidence proof in criminal cases and the violation of the presumption of innocence.
