Design, Synthesis and Biological Activity of the 4-Thioquinoline Derivative

One of the promising areas in the creation of bioregulators is the modeling of compounds that combine several pharmacophores. The design of new highly efficient and low-toxic cytoprotectors is largely based on the derivatives of nitrogen-containing heterocycles, and quinoline plays a significant role among these compounds. The researchers evaluated the toxicity of the tested compounds in silico, in vitro, and in vivo, which allowed determiningseveral factors that affect the level of toxic action of 4-thioquinoline derivatives and the direction of non-toxic substances in this sequence.

The Development, Evaluation, and Antioxidant Activity Analysis of Chitosan Microcapsules Containing Red Ginger Oleoresin with Sodium Tripolyphosphate Prepared by Emulsion Cross-linking Technique

In this study, chitosan-based carrier of red ginger oleoresin was prepared using the emulsion cross-linking technique with sodium tripolyphosphate (TPP) as a cross-linking agent. The effect of chitosan and TPP concentration, as well as pH on the encapsulation efficiency, particle size and characterization of chitosan microcapsule was determined. The antioxidant activity of microcapsules was analyzed. Chitosan microcapsules containing red ginger oleoresin were produced although with non-smooth surfaces.

Exploiting Response Surface Methodology (RSM) as a Novel Approach for the Optimization of Phenolic and Antioxidant Activity of Date Palm Fruit

The Box-Behnken design was used to investigate the effect of three independent variables – time, temperature and solvent-to-solid ratio on the responses of total phenolics, total flavonoids, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging activity and cupric ion reducing antioxidant capacity (CUPRAC) of date fruit methanolic extracts. Response surface analysis showed that the optimal ultrasound extraction parameters that maximized the responses were 30 min, 298 K and 74.4 ml/g. Under optimum conditions, UHPLC-DAD-MS/MS was used to tentatively characterize 11 phenolic compounds.

COMPUTER-AIDED PREDICTION IN SEARCH OF NEW ANTIPLATELET AGENTS WITH ANTIOXIDANT EFFECT AMONG SULFUR-CONTAINING DERIVATIVES OF 9,10-ANTHRAQUINONONE

The diseases of cardiovascular system and oncology are share the first place among all diseases, both in Ukraine and in the world. The problem of arterial thrombosis is one of the important factors that determine the outcome of the diseases.

Chemical Composition and Antioxidant Activity of Globularia Alypum L. Leaves Essential Oil from Ain-Defla (Algeria)

The chemical composition of essential oil obtained by hydro-distillation with 2.10±0.09 % yield from dried Globularia alypum L. leaves was analyzed by GC-MS. It was determined 60 components representing 99.04 % of total oil. For the evaluation of the mentioned antioxidant activity, three different approaches were performed: the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging, b-carotene bleaching (BCB) test systems and ferric reducing/antioxidant power assay (FRAP).The antioxidant was compared with that of synthetic antioxidant ascorbic acid.
