The article identifies the main conditions and problems of introducing energy-efficient technologies for business in Ukraine and considers the design experience of building green commercial buildings that have been erected in recent years (innovative parks UNIT.City in Kiev and LvivTech.City in Lviv, on the Sobachie mouth peninsula, Astarta Business Center in Kiev, etc.) It has been established that the main problem of introducing energy-efficient technologies in public commercial projects is the insufficient participation of the state in financing and stimulating business.

The importance of improving energy efficiency in production, transmission, distribution and trade, as well as the use of energy for the implementation of sustainable development policies in the country, has been established. The concept of “energy efficiency” based on the analysis of literary sources is specified. The factors of influence on the implementation of energy efficiency and its barriers were identified.

The list of problems that can be solved by multilevel system of energy efficiency of the region were determined. Requirements for the implementation of each system component were formulated. It was shown that the technological process control’s components should provide processing of intensive data streams in real time. Also components have to satisfy limitations on size, power consumption and cost.

The current state of domestic energetics, thermal power generation plants in particular is analyzed in the article. It has been investigated that the current state and the prospects of modernization of domestic thermal power generation plants leave much to be desired.
