Information and psychological war of Russia against Ukraine: how to counteract it

The question of using by the Russian Federation means and methods of information and psychological influence against Ukraine are considered, the reasons for lack of resistance to these actions are studied, specific approaches to protecting the national information field are suggested.

Hate interactions as an element of the information war and violence

Abstract. Behind the tokens of aggression and intolerance is the will of communicators and «their» understanding of moral values and principles, as well as the concept of freedom of communication and justice. The level of consciousness of the recipient, the speaker – is different: it regulates the maximization or minimization of the choice of communication tools. The maximum level of incorrectness of statements on social networks sometimes reaches administrative offenses – Article 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

The information war as a modern globalization phenomenon

The article deals with the manifestation of socio-legal nature in such a recent globalization
phenomenon as the information war. It has been proven that manipulating information through
psychological influence on an opponent has historically been a means of warfare. It is pointed out that
the peculiarity of the information war is not only that the influence is exercised through the use of the
latest means, but also that it is an uncontrolled resource that is very weakly regulated, and therefore


The article deals with memes as expressive rhetorical resource in media representations of the Russian-Ukrainian hybrid war and military conflict. It explores textual slogans of Russian propaganda that serve to legitimize external aggression. When these units are mirrored as intertextual material in the Ukrainian counter-discourse, they become critical targets for deconstructing fakes and decontamination of manipulative programs. The network of memetic signs is subordinated to the task of symbolic identification of conflict sides and their objectives.
