Bio-Sorbent Derived from Annona Squamosa for the Removal of Methyl Red Dye in Polluted Waters: A Study on Adsorption Potential

Sorbent got from leaves and barks of Annona squamosa has been investigated for its sorption capacity towards Methyl Red (MR) utilizing artificially arranged recreated squander waters. Different components influencing adsorption, viz., initial color concentration, contact time, adsorbent dosage, along with the impact of temperature were assessed. The equilibrium of adsorption was demonstrated by Freundlich; Langmuir, Temkin, and Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherms.

Chromium(VI) Removal Using Activated Thuja Occidentalis Leaves Carbon Powder – Adsorption Isotherms and Kinetic Studies

This study investigates the capability of Thuja occidentalis leaves carbon powder (TOLC) as a viable adsorbent for the expulsion of chromium(VI) from aqueous solutions. By batch mode, the removal percentage of Cr(VI) is observed to be pH perceptive and furthermore relies upon the time of equilibration, amount of the TOLC adsorbent and Cr(VI) concentration. TOLC adsorbent before and after adsorption of Cr(VI) was characterized with FTIR, SEM and EDX. Adsorption isotherm results divulge that the Langmuir model was a better fit.

Statics and Kinetics of Albumin Adsorption by Natural Zeolite

The statics and kinetics of albumin adsorption on natural zeolite of clinoptilolite structure have been investigated. The basic characteristics of zeolite have been determined. The method of albumin in a solution analysis was given. An isotherm of albumin adsorption was plotted and the Langmuir equation describing this isotherm was given. The presence of an external and pore diffusion adsorption mechanism has been experimentally established during the study of kinetics in a machine with mechanical stirring.

Adsorption of Zinc Ions in Water on Natural and Treated Clay

Adsorption of zinc ions in water on natural and treated clay has been studied. Natural clay before and after activation was characterized using TGА/DTА techniques and chemical analysis.The effects of various parameters, such as an initial concentration, temperature, pH, contact time and adsorbent concentration, has been examined. It was shown that treated clay is a good adsorbent compared to natural clay for removing Zn2+ ions and can be used instead of expensive adsorbents.

Preparation and characterization of phenol sorbents based on konjac glucomannan and water-soluble blocked isocyanates

In this work water-soluble blocked alkyl- or aryl-diisocyanate and glycopolymers based on konjac glucomannan and the blocked diisocyanate were synthesized and characterized. Their phenol sorption ability has been studied. Adsorption experiments were carried out to evaluate the effects of structure of isocyanate, polysaccharide hydroxyl group substitution degree, solution pH, contact time, on the phenol removal efficiency. Langmuir and Freundlich models were applied to describe the adsorption isotherms of phenol, and adsorption parameters were evaluated.
