Linguistic terminology was the object of dissertations which are analysed in the article. These papers touch both description of linguistic terminology system on the whole and in concrete grammars or in the works of scientists of the past in particular. Research of concrete terminology system in diachrony and synchrony is allowed to understand the process of development of linguistic terminology system.
The article is devoted to the analysis of such an important methodological problem of terminographic activity as the problem of metalanguage description. This is a complex part of the language, which focuses on the implementation of a number of applied problems. First of all, it deals with the creation of Historical Terminological Dictionary of Ukrainian Linguistic Terminology. Special attention is given to the fragment of terminography metalanguage which concerns the macro- and micro- organization of vocabulary and the architectonics of registry.
The article is devoted to the analyses of the views of the Ukrainian and foreign terminologists of the problem of synonymy terminological lexicon. The author observes synonymic rows of scientific linguistic names, used in the relicts of the Ukrainian language of the XVI-XVII c., and assertains, that in early periods synonymy was wide-spread and played positive role. The intra- and extralinguistic causes of appearance of the synonymic rows are also counted over.
