Development and Investigation of a Closed-Loop Variable Frequency Drive–Induction Motor System with Scalar Control
In this paper, a MATLAB-based model of a variable frequency drive–induction motor system with scalar control U/f=const and speed feedback is developed and investigated. The system includes a three-phase two-level PWM inverter, a rectifier and a DC-link. The electromechanical parameters of the induction motor are taken into account. Additionally, a PI speed controller and feedback signal filtering are implemented, which allows the model to closely represent the behavior of a real industrial electric drive.
