The essence of the category ‘transformational management’ has been studied. Modern models of transformational management are analyzed. The need to develop an integral theory of transformational leadership is substantiated. Conceptual categories of transformational leadership and trends in the development of transformational management in the conditions of instability of the global environment are identified.
Modern conditions of the functioning of companies have led to a cardinal change in the paradigm of doing business. The transformation of the activities of enterprises has affected all elements of the management system and has led to the objective need to introduce management innovations that allow enterprises to quickly adapt to changes in the external environment. The socio-cultural approach to the characterization of the driving forces of transformational processes at the enterprise allows us to distinguish four worldview and cultural determinants, the interaction of which sets the direction for the processes of development and transformation. The following concepts can be considered such determinants: pragmatism, realism, holism and humanism.
The content of the concept of ‘transformational management’ as a theoretical and methodological basis for managing institutional transformations is proposed to be considered taking into account three aspects: the science and art of transformation management, the type of activity and the process of making managerial transformation decisions, the transformation management apparatus.
Recently, the integral theory of transformational leadership has been intensively developing. Its provisions indicate that transformational leadership is a process of internal socio-psychological organization, management of the activities of the team (collective), influence on military personnel, which is accompanied by a change in the perceptions and values of the latter, activation of higher needs for innovation, creativity, self-actualization
Conceptually, transformational leadership is divided into four categories; namely: individual approach, intellectual stimulation, idealized influence and inspired motivation.
