The article is devoted to the study of the legal problem of domestic violence in certain ethno-national groups on the example of the Roma by determining the peculiarities of the status of Roma women and presenting proposals for legal regulation of the problem.

Public and political conditions and principles of the state policy in Poland in the second half of the 20th –first half of the 30th XX c. are highlighted. In particular, the peculiarities of policy’s realization in the conditions of establishing of military dictatorship, taking a census by the authorities of that time and the national minorities’ reaction are revealed.
