Study on the Liquid Phase Reaction of Ozone with Ethylbenzene and Its Derivatives

This work deals with the investigation of the reactions of ethylbenzene and its derivatives with ozone in a solution of glacial acetic acid. The products and kinetic features of oxidation were studied, the kinetic parameters of the reactions were found, and the mechanism of ozonation in the liquid phase was proposed. The influence of deactivating substituents (-Br, -NO2) in the aromatic ring on the selectivity of the side chain oxidation of the substrate was established.

Decontamination of Biological Agents in Wastewater through Synergetic Oxidative Methods as an Effective Approach for Safeguarding Public Health and Aquatic Ecosystems

We employed a highly concentrated model of wastewater to conduct our research, accurately mimicking the composition of wastewater generated by milk processing enterprises. Wastewater contained milk protein, carbohydrates, and whey sugars. Domestic wastewater, which served as a source of indicator fecal microorganisms, was added to them.

Research of the Process of Liquid Phase Selective Oxidation of 4-Aminotoluene with Ozone

According to the results of studying of kinetic relationships and mechanism of the process of catalytic oxidation of 4-aminotoluene with ozone in the liquid phase, the basis of the technology of 4-aminobenzyl alcohol and 4-aminobenzaldehyde have been developed. It has been shown that under the ozonation conditions in the solution of acetic anhydride in the presence of sulfuric acid, manganese(II) acetate or its mixture with potassium bromide it is possible to stop oxidation at the stage of forming 4-aminobenzyl alcohol or aldehyde.
