THE USE OF AN ULTRASONIC FLOW METER IN THE ZONE OF INFLUENCE OF INDIRECT SECTIONS OF THE WATER PIPELINE

The accuracy of water flow rate measurement with an ultrasonic flow meter (UFM) is affected by pipeline conditions. On water pipelines, there is often no the required length of direct section, required by the device passport or regulatory documents. Therefore, we conducted experiments using UFM to measure water flow rate in the zone of influence of non-direct sections of the water pipeline. The flow rate was measured in two planes of the pipeline with an offset of 90 o and the average value was taken.

Analysis of blood flow through curved artery with mild stenosis

Building-up of plaque narrows arteries, decreasing blood flow to the heart, causing chest pain, shortness of breath, or other coronary artery disease signs and symptoms.  Implementing Navier–Stokes equations in a cylindrical coordinate system and assuming axial symmetry under laminar flow conditions, the study has been conducted on the two aspects of blood flow dynamics viz., velocity profile and volumetric flow rate of blood around curved stenosis with a variation of curvature of the artery and the stenosis thickness.  The blood flow behavior taking different values for the viscosity coeff

Investigation of Ultrasonic Flowmeter Error in Distorted Flow Using Two-peak Salami Functions

Results of investigating the additional error of ultrasonic flowmeters caused by the distortion of the flow are presented in the article. The location coordinates of acoustic paths were calculated for their number from 1 to 6 according to the different numerical integrating methods: Gauss (Gauss-Legendre, Gauss-Jacobi), Chebyshev (equidistant location of acoustic paths), Westinghouse method, method of OWICS (Optimal Weighted Integration for Circular Sections).
