The historical cemetery near the Church of the Holy Spirit in Rohatyn was investigated. The analysis of damages and losses of the ensemble of the cemetery and its separate monuments is carried out. The material of tombstones has been identified, the state of preservation of their physical substance has been analyzed. Tasks and challenges related to the conservation of the cemetery as a whole and its monuments have been analyzed.

The article analyzes peculiarities of the Ukrainian sacral architectural heritage, its role and importance for1 preservation of national and cultural identity and the growth of international attractiveness. Attention is focused on the sacral monuments of Drohobych as an integral part of the national and world culture. The sacral legacy of Ukraine is characterized by a diversity of forms and is considered as one of the most distinctive in European and world culture.

The current tendency of preserving monuments of immovable cultural heritage has gained negative connotations since the conservation treatment activities executed by state and religious communities that  become  ‘owners’  of  significant  sacred  objects  still  lacks  the  sufficient  legislative  regulation.  The synchronization of multidisciplinary studies of specialists in different areas is extremely important for the comprehensive preservation of an architectural object.

The palaces of the romantic style, built in the Lviv region in the XIX - early twentieth century, included a number of architectural and landscape elements that created a unique and harmonious ensemble. Today, practically there are no objects that completely preserved their original appearance. Architectural and landscape-compositional features of such ensembles remain undervalued and require professional attention. It is important to analyze their current function to determine the prospects for their further use, restoration and rational conservation.

Проведено стилістичний та композиційний аналіз терацових підлог історичних львівських будівель, окреслено еволюцію їх використання та виявлено проблеми їх збереження.

У статті описано дослідження винниківських млинів. За бібліографічними і архівними джерелами встановлено їх приблизну кількість. За допомогою картографічних джерел і їх зіставлення вдалось знайти місця розташування 7 млинів. З них чотири втрачені повністю. Один під назвою “табачний млин” збережений частково. Один на приватному подвір’ї як господарська споруда. І останній, по вул. Франка, 114, – майже збережена будівля. На ньому проведено натурні обміри і фотофіксації. Зроблено аналіз етапів реконструкцій млина.

Досліджено аспект збереження пам’яті в архітектурному середовищі міста у контексті його сприйняття. Розглянуто особливості розвитку середовища міста з позиції міського дизайну.

The research concerns glass glowing specimens preserved in such museums as Lviv History Museum, Historical Museum of the town of Vynnyky, Volodymyr-Volynsky Historical Museum and Kremenets Regional Museum of Local Lore. Although glass glowing specimens are available in the museums of historic character, they are not always properly presented in the exposition. One of the reasons is that the craft of glass-glowing has not gained sufficient popularization in Ukrainian historiography, despite the centuries-old tradition of glass glowing.

This article based on the analysis of literature and archival sources, followed the main stages of the development and formation of one of the largest museum institutions of Lviv and Galicia to 1939 – Museum of the scientific society named after Shevchenko in Lviv. Dedicated 1912–1920 years – the period from the time when the Museum of the Shevchenko scientific society received a separate room for the museum fund collections became public, the public museum institution, until the end of The First World War and the Ukrainian liberation competitions.

Today in Ukraine sciences like museology and weaponology are being actively developed, military history of our country is greatly popularized. There is a growing interest, especially among young people, in military museums and weapon museum collections, which causes the need to reform museum exhibitions of weapons relatively to challenges of our time taking into account the latest technological capabilities and consumer needs.
