In social networks, information warfare is in full swing. Today, in many countries, there are information troops that aim to destroy and eliminate the enemy, change the mindset of the opponents and society in the information space. A significant field of their battle is social networks. After all, it is in social networks that every day there are millions of people around the world where they communicate, share experiences, share news, discuss relevant topics, discuss and draw valuable information for themselves, which is why the activity of informational warriors is aiming at them.
Information warriors create and distribute manipulative, often false information, to scare, misinform, convince people of the information they need. Also, trolls enter into discussions with real users, and those who disclose them or doubt their public information — threaten and intimidate.
Informational warriors always have customers, who pay for services and shape and correct tasks. The activities of trolls are threatening, as it can lead to unpredictable consequences in society ranging from the usual discussions in social networks to the revolution.
Often, ordinary social network users are not able to distinguish where the real user of the social network, and where the informational warrior, which is intended to mislead. Therefore, in this article, based on our research, we give methods for recognizing bots and trolls.
The article deals with the concept of “trolling”, describes the history of the occurrence of this term, classified information warriors who work in social networks. We give their differences and their specifics. We give the methods and tasks of these information warriors are named. And also means of combating informational warriors.
