Chemical Composition and Antioxidant Activity of Globularia Alypum L. Leaves Essential Oil from Ain-Defla (Algeria)

The chemical composition of essential oil obtained by hydro-distillation with 2.10±0.09 % yield from dried Globularia alypum L. leaves was analyzed by GC-MS. It was determined 60 components representing 99.04 % of total oil. For the evaluation of the mentioned antioxidant activity, three different approaches were performed: the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging, b-carotene bleaching (BCB) test systems and ferric reducing/antioxidant power assay (FRAP).The antioxidant was compared with that of synthetic antioxidant ascorbic acid.

Computer prediction and verification of antioxidative activity of exo-functionalized derivatives of 9,10-antraquinone.

A computer-aided prediction of the pharmacological activity of a number of exo-functionalized derivatives of 9,10-anthraquinone with amino acid and thiazole fragments for the search of compounds with antioxidant effect using the program PASS of the web resource Way2Drug was carried out. The obtained results were analyzed for the probability of the mechanism of antioxidant action as a radical scavenger, antihypoxic, oxygen scavenger, radical formation agonist and catalase stimulator.

SPRING PRECIOUS PRESENTATION – SOURCE OF PHENOL COMPOUNDS WITH ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY

The paper provides generalized information on the pharmacological properties, chemical
composition and use of primrose (Primula veris) in folk and official medicine. It has been
established that only 9 medicines on the basis of extracts from roots or flowers of the primrose
with a cup used in diseases of the respiratory system are registered in the pharmaceutical
market of Ukraine. In addition, the content of extractives, phenolic compounds, flavonoids,
antioxidant activity of tincture of grass of the primrose of spring is determined.

Дослідження антиоксидантної активності екстрактів лікарських рослин

Досліджено інтенсивність процесів пероксидного окиснення ліпідів (ПОЛ) та
окисної модифікації білків (ОМБ) екстрактів зі шроту лікарських рослин материнки
звичайної (Origanum vulgare L.), моркви дикої (Daucus carota), хмелю звичайного
(Humulus lupulus). Порівняно їхні активності з відомим антиоксидантом – аскорбіновою
кислотою. Встановлено, що за дії всіх досліджуваних екстрактів лікарських речовин
спостерігається гальмування вільнорадикальних процесів за двома показниками

QSAR Studies of Some Thiazolo[4,5-b]pyridines as Novel Antioxidant Agents: Enhancement of Activity by Some Molecular Structure Parameters

The antioxidant activity of novel N3 and C6 substituted 5,7-dimethyl-3H-thiazolo[4,5-b]pyridine-2-one derivatives was evaluated in vitro by the method of scavenging effect on 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radicals. The correlation analysis between the antioxidant activity and different subsets molecular descriptors was carried out for 19 compounds.

Effect of Polystyrene/Fullerene Composites on the Lipid Peroxidation in Blood Serum

Pure polystyrene films and polystyrene films filled with fullerenes (C60+C70 mix) were fabricated by the solution cast method. Effect of polystyrene/fullerene composite on free-radical processes in blood serum has been investigated in vitro. The parameters of lipid peroxidation in native serum after adding the composite films were determined by a chemiluminescent analysis and spectrophotometry.
