The Influence of Surfactants on the Physical Properties of Clinkers

The influence of three types of surfactants on the following clinker properties: specific surface area, sorption behavior (hygroscopicity), water repellency, and flowability has been studied. Experimental results show that the surfactants have different influence on the grinding kinetics and properties of clinkers that mainly depend on the surfactants concentration than their origin or state of matter. Use of special surfactants as grinding aids is proposed.


Grinding aids (GAs) for cement clinker milling is used to reduce the energy required to achieve a given degree of cement powder dispersion. Some products in the GA, commonly referred to as performance enhancers, have a positive effect on the hydration of cement, improving the strength of the concrete. At grinding of materials simultaneously occur two opposite processes: the destruction of particles by external force and the aggregation of particles, which can be arbitrary, as well as due to external compressive forces.

The influence of technological factors on the properties of fibre cement articles is investigated. The research reveals an interconnection between microstructure and strength of the cement matrix with the average density, moisture deformation and warping of fibre cement sheets.

Low Energy Consuming Modified Composite Cements and their Properties

 It has been shown that in the conditions of aggravation of ecological problems, shortage of high-quality raw materials for the production of Portland cement clinker a promising direction of cement industry development is more extensive waste utilization as well as production of low energy consuming cement clinker and modified composite cements, characterized by high content of active mineral additives.

Physico-Mechanical Properties of Cements with Application of Barium-Containing Sulfateferrite Clinkers

In the work the results of research the physico-mechanical properties of cements with the use of barium-containing sulfateferrite clinkers and gypsum stone are given. As a result of research of barium-containing sulfateferrite clinkers hydraulic properties it is found out that while concretion they show too fast hardening and low solidity therefore they cannot be used as an independent binder. For the purpose of regulation the hardening terms the influence of the gypsum stone additive was studied.
