Hydrological processes modeling using GIS ARCGIS and module HEC-RAS

Aim of this research is to determine the area of land flooding according to a reasonably chosen hydrological model for a complex section of the Dniester River at the place of transition from the foothill to the plain with complex meandering and significant shifts of the river. Methods. The method of investigation of flooded areas as a result of water rise to a certain level has been processed.

Technology for building digital elevation models for creating plan of river floor

It is represented method of construction of Digital Elevation Models of river bottom. Measurement were executed double-frequency echo sounder data processing was conducted with the use of DPS “Delta”. Accurasy of DEM corresponds to the scale of topographic plane 1:5000.

Mapping of avalanche dangerous territories using GIS technologies

Purpose. Avalanching is a natural phenomenon that can cause loss of life, destructions of residential and industrial buildings, inflict losses on forestry, agriculture and tourism development in mountainous areas. Monitoring and research of potential avalanche dangerous territories is an urgent task. Geoinformation modeling plays leading role for its solving. The purpose of this paper is to create raster thematic maps of avalanching hazards on the base of analysis of certain morphometric and environmental factors of avalanching in the territory of the mountain ridge Polonyna Borzhava.
