Досліджено історію формування житлової забудови Львова, починаючи з періоду його найбільшого розвитку, завершуючи початком сучасного етапу масового будівництва. Розглянуто історію спорудження основної частини житлової забудови міста та виділено основні історичні етапи розвитку. На основі аналізу відкритих даних із застосуванням методу геоінформаційного моделювання у статті проаналізовано територіальний розвиток житлового будівництва. Досліджено основні містобудівні характеристики забудови та соціально-економічні явища, що супроводжували її розвиток.
