Social Communication and Information Activity in Digital Humanities: Ukrainian Dimension

The 1st International Workshop on Social Communication and Information Activity in Digital Humanities (SCIA-2022) was conducted as online event on October 20, 2022 in Lviv, Ukraine. The workshop aims to disseminate and exchange ideas and practical experience in using digital and information methods in the humanitarian sphere. SCIA-2022 topics covers social communication, cultural analytics and information activity in digital humanities. This volume includes 18 papers that were presented and submitted to the workshop proceedings. 

Digital Humanities in the Concept of Training Specialists in Information, Library and Archival Science

Objective processes of radical modernization of the activities of information and analytical structures, libraries, and archives determine the training of a modern specialist in Digital Humanities. Their role as scientific, information-analytical, and educational centers is growing, which provides an opportunity to quickly and fully use information resources, conduct information searches using information technologies, systems, and networks, and enter the world of scientific and educational space.

SCIA-2023: Scientific Research in the Context of Wartime Realities

The 2nd International Workshop on Social Communication and Information Activity in Digital Humanities (SCIA-2023) took place as an online event on November 9, 2023, in Lviv, Ukraine. The workshop's theme was expanded to include 14 categories, providing a more comprehensive platform for the presentation of new ideas in the field of Digital Humanities and related areas. This volume of workshop materials comprises 27 papers, which underwent a thorough review and were presented for consideration and discussion. 

Showcasing Identity: Virtual Exhibitions of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Canada

Virtual exhibitions are recognized as essential tools employed by cultural memory institutions to preserve and promote the historical and cultural heritage of the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada. These platforms overcome time and geographical limitations, providing unrestricted access to cultural artifacts and narratives that celebrate the contributions of Ukrainian Canadians.

Digital Humanities in Education: Practices at Lviv Polytechnic National University

The article examines the evolution of the Lviv educational and scientific school of library and information sciences, established at the department of Social Communications and Information Activities of Lviv Polytechnic National University, in the context of modernization processes within document-information and information-analytical institutions, as well as the penetration of digital technologies into administrative, socio-economic and humanitarian domains of society.

SCIA-2025: Digital Humanities in a Time of Transformation

The 4th International Workshop on Social Communication and Information Activity in Digital Humanities (SCIA-2025) took place in Lviv, Ukraine, on October 30, 2025, continuing the tradition of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of Digital Humanities. This year’s workshop featured 8 selected papers out of 22 submissions, reflecting a high level of academic rigor and thematic diversity.
