Assessment of the influence of technogenically triggered hydrodynamic processes on groundwater contamination in the area of Kalush mining industry by applying geophysical methods

The aim of the research is to substantiate the scientific foundations of an integrated approach to solving environmental and geological problems related to groundwater salinization in the Kalush mining region; quantitative evaluation of the dynamics of such salinization and its relationship with the river system based on geochemical and geophysical observations.

Area-wide 2D and quasi-3D geoelectric models of the Earth's crust and upper mantle as a possible evidence of recent tectonic activity in the western part of the Ukrainian Shield

The purpose of the presented work was to model the electrical conductivity distribution in the northwestern part of the Ukrainian shield and to study the relationship of geoelectric anomalies with natural mineral deposits and with signs of possible tectonic activation of long-lived fault systems on the Shield. The methodology was based on long-period magnetotelluric and magnetovariational measurements in the period range of 3-16 to 2500-3600 s.

Ultrasonic Cavitation in Wastewater Treatment from Azo Dye Methyl Orange

The work is devoted to the study of reagent treatment of methyl orange mono azo dye under the action of acoustic vibrations of the ultrasonic range. The positive effect of cavitation phenomena on the rate of mineralization of azo dye (13.4% increase) was compared with the reagent treatment of the solution without ultrasonic vibrations.

Stripping voltamperometric determination of heavy metals in honey samples

The content of zinc, cadmium, lead, and copper in honey varieties was determined by the method of stripping voltammetry. Samples preparing was made by three different methods: dry and hydro ashing, as well by “hydro” mineralization and dry ashing. It was found that all methods of samples preparing can be used for destroying honey matrix, but the combined method of samples preparing is the most efficient one for ions of heavy metals extracting and provides accuracy of the definition.

On using the time domain electromagnetic sounding for determination of lithological boundaries in the presence of highly mineralized subsurface waters

Purpose. The aim of research is to analyze the possibilities of the transient electromagnetic method (TEM) in the near field zone  provided  pollution of geological media by highly mineralized waters takes place. Particular attention is paid to the distinguishing of lithological boundaries according to  elecrical resistivity of layers. Methodology.

On the assessment of groundwater pollution using electrometric methods

The results of electrometric research in the mining industrial district of Kalush are presented. The method of transition from electric resistance to mineralization considering the comparison of results from borehole testing was used by authors. The map of degree of groundwater mineralization within the study area was constructed according to the interpretation of VEZ based on transition formulas from electric resistance to mineralization.
