«Surface characterization of optical biosensors for detection of harmful substances in food»

Katarzyna Gajos graduated from Jagiellonian University in Kraków in 2017 with a Ph.D. in Biophysics. After the graduation she works as an assistant professor in Department of Molecular and Interfacial Biophysics at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Her research interests cover biomolecular nanolayers, micro-patterns and biosensor surfaces, their characterization with surface science methods, including TOF-SIMS spectrometry.

Full Professor in Polymer Science at CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Paris, France)
Researcher at the PIMM laboratory (Arts et Metiers Institute of Technology, CNRS, Cnam, HESAM University)

About:

After a Ph.D. at Mines ParisTech under the supervision of Prof. Jean-François Agassant in polymer processing science, his current researches are focused on the (nano-)structuration of multiphase polymer systems (polymer blends, nanocomposites, block copolymers…) with the aim of enhancing macroscopic properties (gas barrier, mechanical, optical properties …).

Many of his studies deal with the use of the nanolayer coextrusion process in order to better control blend morphology, disperse nanofillers, and induce nanoconfinement of polymers.

Co-author of 50 publications, 2 patents, more than 60 oral presentations in international scientific conferences.
