A principal breakthrough in georadar technology – ROTEG

The purpose of the research was to verify the extraordinary big theoretical penetration depth of new developed georadar in the real conditions of karsts areas. The new kind of the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) – Roteg – was developed in 2013 (RTG-Tengler 2013). Its technical parameters (pulse peak on the transmitting antenna 20 kV or more, and the sensitivity of the receiving antenna at least 2 uV, i.e. the real signal detection level around 20 uV) express that the real signal detection sensitivity is 9 orders, i.e. 180 dB.

Integration of electric prospecting methods for forecasting the subsidence and sinkholes within the salt deposits in the Precarpathian area

Objective. The aim of this work is to study the efficiency of combining such methods as: investigation of the natural pulse electromagnetic field of Earth (NIEMFE) and transient electromagnetics (TEM) for the preliminary assessment of the degree of stability of mining fields within the deposits of potassium salts in the Precarpathian area, as well as forecasting the development of deformation processes in the near-surface layer of the geological environment. Methodology.

Evaluation of karst-chasm hazard processes by electroprospecting methods in the location of Stebnyk potassium deposit

Purpose. The purpose of this work is definition of potentially ecologically-hazard and karst-chasm zones and prediction of karst development near the Skhidnytsia-Pisochne highway on the area of mine No.2 of Stebnyk potassium deposit by electroprospecting method, namely time domain electromagnetic method (TDEM). Methodology. The research was carried out using the TDEM method in the modification of “the contour in the contour”. To study the upper part of the cross-section down to 100 meters, the digital equipment for electroprospecting “Stage” was used.

About necessity of the complexing geophysical methods in natural and industrial karst investigation (the example of salt deposits in Precarpathians)

The optimum complex of geophysical research methods (gravimetry, PIEMPZ, VEZ, ZS) to identify unstable areas associated with the development of natural and anthropogenic karst is present. An interpretation of the results, based on a complex calculation using an integrated option - features a comprehensive index (PCF), which is consistent with the criterion for karst hazard. The 3D models of the distribution of probability criterion for karst hazard individual sections of the mine fields.

Estimation of hazards of the surface deformations of rocks within Stebnyk potassium salt deposit area by method ENPEMF

Purpose. The purpose of the paper is to substantiate of expediency of application of the method of the Earth's natural pulse electromagnetic field (ENPEMF) to assess the hazard of surface deformation of rocks as a result of exploitation of Stebnyk deposits of potassium salts. Methods. The geophysical survey used a method ENPEMF for areas within the mining allotment of Stebnyk deposits of potassium salts (Lviv region, Ukraine).

The results of detailed EM soundings in the problem zone at the northern border of Dombrovsky quarry

The results of electro-magnetic diagnostics of the medium in the upper part of geological cut between river of Sivka and the northern border of quarry are presented. Time domain electromagnetic sounding has detected and quantitatively outlined a zone of anomalous conductivity associated with development of filtration-suffosion and karst processes in the gypsum-clay cap and in the ore body as a result of infiltration of river waters and atmospheric precipitations into water-bearing horizon, and their migration in the border zone at lower hypsometric dates.
