The article is devoted to the influence of terrain, landscapes, and meteorological conditions on the establishment of air quality monitoring points in the relevant territory of the Lviv region. The main factors affecting the distribution of the concentration of pollutants in atmospheric air during the design of air monitoring stations have been determined.

The article considers the importance of preserving the architectural environment's national identity in terms of its defense’s effectiveness in modern military operations. A brief overview of the traditional urban characteristics of Ukrainian cities, which in the past ensured their effective defense, was made: the way the buildings are located in the landscape, the planning structure, the height of the buildings, and the density of their location on the territory.

The article highlights and analyzes the main periods of development of urban green areas of Lviv from the founding of the princely city to the present day. Methods of historical analysis and analysis of the scientific literature were used in the study to find the relationship between historical conditions and periods of development of green areas. Statistical analysis was also used to study statistics on green space, city area and population.

Development of compositional characteristics of the urban environment in various countries has been characterized by a pervasive tendency to unification. In today’s context, the main threat for the architecture is an absence of individuality. Support of the local identity of the architectural space is essential not only in the context of tourism, but, first of all, for the meaningful socio-cultural functioning of a country. 

The article describes issues related to the shaping of architectural objects in urban spaces and in the spaces of nature, where the surroundings – context – relations with nature and the built environment constitute an important functional and spatial connection.

Розглянуто проблеми містобудівного розвитку малих міст у змінних соціально-економічних умовах. Окреслено потенційні конфлікти сучасної функціонально-планувальної та просторової структури міста та вимог щодо збалансованого функціонування міста. Об’єктами аналізу є м. Тячів та смт Буштино Закарпатської області.
