USING PUBLIC OPINION POLLS IN THE COVERAGE OF THE 2020 LOCAL ELECTIONS IN TV NEWS

For many Ukrainians, the “window” into the world of news is television, especially television news. Having studied the news programs of all-Ukrainian channels, it can be noted that despite broadcasting local elections facts on all TV channels, they did not get such great media interest as the presidential or parliamentary ones, which may indicate little attention of central media to local politics.

Media and Inter-Confessional Conflicts: the Problem, Concepts and Visions

The article analyzes the topic of interfaith conflicts in the media. Attention is paid to the relevance of the research, which is caused by the processes of church and religious life of the state. Another reason for the urgency is due to the internal political processes in Ukraine. These processes are shaped by certain socio-political shifts (electoral processes, revolutions, etc.), as well as Russia’s geopolitical influence on the state through the Church. Actually, these aspects of the problem can be distinguished from journalistic materials. They are also the basis of visions.

How to reach communication: to the issues for the protection of human rights and freedom in the information sphere

The article presents legislative changes to the Law on the Print Media, including the Media Act and the Misinformation Act. The features of the modern stage of communication and functioning of information in it and manipulation of it with the purpose of hostile influence on the conscientiousness of the communicators are characterized. The harmful effects of the hybrid information war have been pointed out. Separate opinions have been expressed on the provisions of the bills under discussion.

The British press coverage of Brexit is a crucial agent in shaping the public and an individual’s stand to the Brexit issues.

In Ukraine social networks began to spread actively in the last 10 years. From that time they have got new possibilities, functions, influence on the users. Social networks are not only used for the entertainment or communication between friends or colleges, but also a a source of information for modern journalists. However, they not always use them correct and honest. The information from social networks need to be checked very attentive, and from different sources.

Тhe peculiarities of conflicts representation in mass media

The article deals with the journalist covering of conflict processes. The conflict is regarded as the important content- and form-driving element of journalistic texts. The author analyzes how the field of conflict is represented with content, genre and plot-compositional means of journalism. The peculiarities of media coverage of such parameters of conflict processes as structure, typology, reasons, dynamics, and functions are clarified.

Convergence and cross-media: discourse term logic paradigm

The paper identifies key interpretation of convergence; on the basis of their analysis are systematized and tendencies within the meaning of the term and its dynamics of social communication; cross-media understanding is proposed as the implementation process of media convergence trends. The author notes that the media industry is changing rapidly and facing the development and combination of different media formats.
