METHODS FOR ASSESSING THE TRANSPORT AND PEDESTRIAN ACCESSIBILITY OF MULTI-STOREY RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS AND COMPLEXES, AS WELL AS THEIR IMPACT ON THE CITY INFRASTRUCTURE

The paper focuses on the author's method of assessing pedestrian and transport mobility of residents of modern multi-storey buildings and complexes. The study of transport routes in cities is the subject matter of entire scientific and design institutes, therefore, the method has been designed to make architects, researchers, developers and urban planners aware of a housing unit in terms of its accessibility, as well as to assess its impact on the city.

METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE MORPHOLOGICAL THESAURUS IN THE CONTEXT OF CITY PLANNING

There is terminological ambiguity in the definition and understanding of a number of morphological concepts and categories in the theory and practice of urban planning. Such concepts are aimed at giving an objective assessment of the features and patterns of formation of the material and spatial environment of the city. We have proposed and substantiated the method of forming a morphological thesaurus.

HUMAN-FRIENDLY NEW WAY OF SEEING ARCHITECTURE

This article is written in the wake of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic to shake the world and stagnant systems. After COVID, nothing would be the same as it used to be. It is what it used to be, and we were hoping for a different turn of events. However, things will not sort themselves out. So let us take a look at what cannot do itself, but must be done in architecture and design in general.

ARCHITECTURAL WORKSHOP AS A TOOL OF INTENSIVE COURSE DESIGN

The article deals with the workshop Urban Density Lab Vienna, that took place in Vienna in 2016 with the participation of students and professors from the Technical University of Vienna (TUV), the Department of Urban Planning (Stӓdtebau), NU "Lviv Polytechnic" (NULP), the Department of Urban Development and Architectural Design, the University of Los Andes In Bogotá (Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá). Workshop as a part of the design course of urban planning is an effective tool of the intensive designing process.

MODERN EUROPEAN CITY – CHALLENGES, PROSPECTS AND VISION FOR DEVELOPMENT

The aim of the work is to present problems related to the development of modern cities and the possibilities of activities in the sphere of architecture and urban planning. The presented material is also intended to contribute to the discussion on the role of the contemporary city and its future in connection with the processes of urbanization and changes in the social structure of European cities. Two selected groups of problems are discussed.
