“PESCO 4”: the Role of Member States’ Ambitions in the Implementation of Defence and Security Projects of the European Union

The article clarifies the options for cooperation of 26 EU Member States within the framework of PESCO, which combine and develop their capabilities, which they would be unable to develop and implement separately. It is about developing defence capabilities, investment coordination, increasing operational readiness, operational interoperability and stability of their armed forces, and cooperation in various projects. It is emphasized on the various PESCO projects such as cyber, unmanned systems, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear surveillance and medical services.

Military Component of European Union’s Security Activity: History, Current Status and Development Prospects

The article examines the military component of the EU's security activities. The history of cooperation between Western European countries after the Second World War in the field of collective defence is highlighted. It is shown that the creation of NATO was the main factor in limiting the scope of autonomous European defence efforts. The author identifies the impact on the military component of the EU's activities of such events as the beginning of Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2014 and a full-scale Moscow attack in 2022.

The Main Forms of the Influence of Military Conflicts on Climate Change: On the Example of Russian-Ukrainian War

The article analyses the influence of military conflicts on climate change. The author argues that the relationship between military conflicts and climate change is bilateral: on the one hand, the cause of military conflicts may be climate changes; on the other hand, military conflicts have a negative inflyence on the environment, causing climate change.

National police as a component of the security and defence sector in countering russian aggression in Ukraine

Based on theoretical and legal analysis, the article summarizes the peculiarities of police activity as a component of the security and defence sector during the period of russian aggression.  

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECTS OF PERMANENT STRUCTURED COOPERATION IN THE EUROPEAN UNION SECURITY AND DEFENSE: PROBLEMS AND CHALLENGES (Review Article)

The article clarifies the key features of the implementation of projects within the framework of PESCO and their prospects, taking into account the coronavirus pandemic and the fact that the Russian-Ukrainian war since 2014 has gone beyond the regional framework and affected the foundations of international and European security. It also analyzes the PESCO Strategic Review 2020 and the guidelines for the PESCO next phase (2021–2025) in terms of overall purpose, key policy objectives, processes, and incentives to improve the implementation of more pressing commitments.

Police before and during the Russian -Ukrainian war of 2022

The article is devoted to the theoretical and legal characteristics of the essence of the police in the period of its reform and highlighting of certain positions of its official duties performance in the Russian-Ukrainian invasive war. The legal analysis of the main conditions and reasons is carried out according to which the qualitative reorganization of the organizational and legal essence of the police has been slowed down.
