THE STREET GALLERY AS A NEW FORM OF PUBLIC EXHIBITION SPACE IN THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT
The street gallery is a phenomenon that is increasingly popularity in contemporary cities, yet it still lacks a clear conceptual definition in academic literature. This article proposes a theoretical framework for understanding the street gallery as an independent form of public exhibition space, distinct from other manifestations of street art. It examines the process by which urban infrastructural surfaces (retaining walls, building end walls, and industrial facades) are transformed into exhibition carriers that become integral elements of the architectural environment.
