The article examines the relevance of the biophilic approach in the process of rebuilding the urban environment in Ukraine after the war. Biophilic design, which involves the integration of natural elements into architectural solutions, is becoming an important tool not only for creating sustainable and ecologically balanced cities, but also for improving the psychological health of residents. Considering the destruction caused by the war and the future challenges of urban reconstruction, a biophilic approach can contribute not only to ecological regeneration, but also to the creation of a comfortable environment that will contribute to the social regeneration of the population.
Considerable attention is paid in the article to the analysis of the advantages of biophilic design for the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities, especially those that have suffered destruction due to military actions. It has been studied how natural elements can help reduce stress, improve the physical and mental health of people who have survived the war. In addition, the biophilic approach has an important economic effect due to the reduction of energy consumption and the use of natural resources in the design, which will help to create sustainable cities of the future.
The article also offers practical recommendations for the integration of biophilia in the process of reconstruction of destroyed cities, analyzing successful international examples of post-war reconstruction based on the biophilia approach. The main challenges that may arise during the implementation of this approach in the Ukrainian context and possible ways to overcome them are identified. In the end, a conclusion was made about the importance of biophilic design as a tool for creating environmentally sustainable, socially comfortable and psychologically healthy cities in Ukraine after the end of the war.
