Study on the Purification Process of Used Motor Oils in the Presence of Crystalline Urea

The paper deals with the results of the study on the purification process of used mineral and semi-synthetic motor oils in the presence of crystalline urea. The effect of the process main factors (the amount of the main reagent, time, and temperature) on the performance indicators of purified motor oils was studied. Used mineral and semi-synthetic motor oils for gasoline and diesel engines were purified under the established optimal conditions.

Study on the Properties of Semi-Synthetic Motor Oil Castrol 10W-40 after Use in a Diesel Engine

The changes in operational and physico-chemical properties of original and used semi-synthetic motor oil Castrol 10W-40 before and after its use in a diesel engine have been investigated. Derivatographic studies were carried out to examine a thermal stability; IR spectroscopy was used to confirm the presence of oil aging products. The composition of the inorganic part of the studied semi-synthetic oils was established by X-ray fluorescence analysis.

FUNCTIONAL-COST ANALYSIS OF METHODS OF REGENERATION OF USED MINERAL MOTOR OILS

The main methods of regeneration of used mineral motor oils, in particular physical, chemical, physicochemical methods are considered. The functional-cost analysis of methods of regeneration of the used mineral motor oils by means of branch experts is carried out. Functional-cost analysis is a method of pairwise comparisons and involves the process of ranking the selected characteristics according to the degree of importance (weight). To do this, each characteristic is assigned a certain index.

Integrated Regeneration Method for Used Mineral Motor Oils

The scheme of the integrated regeneration method for used mineral motor oils (UMMO) has been developed, according to which M-10DM and NORMAL 15W40 used oils were regenerated. A study on changes in physico-chemical properties, qualitative and elemental composition was carried out, and a mathematical model of the process was built. The further applications of the obtained products were proposed. Based on the obtained results, the technological scheme and flow chart of UMMO integrated regeneration were developed, and the process material balance was calculated.

Thermooxidative Regeneration of Used Mineral Motor Oils

The physico-chemical properties and group composition of the used mineral motor oils M-10DM and NORMAL 15W40, as well as the fractions obtained as a result of their thermooxidative regeneration have been studied. The results of IR-spectroscopic and X-ray fluorescence analysis of used oils and fractions obtained during thermooxidative regeneration are presented. The changes in the composition and properties of regenerated oils are described.

Application of Vacuum Distillation for the Used Mineral Oils Recycling

The physico-chemical properties and the group composition of the used mineral motor oils M-10DM and NORMAL 15W40, as well as the fractions obtained as a result of their vacuum distillation, have been studied. The results of IR spectroscopy and XRF analysis are presented. The change in the composition and properties of the fractions distilled from used oils under vacuum has been described.

Change in properties of m-10dm mineral motor oil after its using in the diesel engine

Physico-chemical properties and group composition of the virgin and used M-10DM motor oil for diesel engines were studied. IR-spectroscopy and derivatography were used for investigation. By means of X-ray fluorescence the composition of inorganic part was determined. Change in properties and composition of M-10DM before and after using are discussed.
