The second half of the 19th century was marked by active construction of administrative and public buildings in Lviv. At that time, architectural and urban complexes were formed in the central part of the city, which today create the unique architectural face of the city. In 1892-1895, a large building of the Regional Court of Galicia was erected on one of the main historical streets of the city. Purpose of the study. To reveal the architectural features of the Palace of Justice building, to highlight the methods and technological techniques used to decorate the facades and interiors, and to address issues related to the restoration of the building and its artistic elements. The research methodology is based on field surveys of the building, as well as the study of archival materials. A search for iconographic and photographic materials, including Internet sources, was conducted. Materials from scientific and design studies by the Department of Architecture and Conservation were used, in particular the results of exploratory studies of the interiors. The results of the research reveal the main features of the building's spatial layout (two main, richly decorated facades with sculptural compositions in the upper tier; an asymmetrical plan with corridors and two lobbies – the main and service ones), and highlight the characteristics and special features of the interior decoration methods. The service entrance is particularly rich in decoration. On the second floor, there is a large courtroom. The carved wooden decorations in this hall were unique. Unfortunately, these decorations were destroyed during the Soviet era. The hall still has authentic decorative paintings on the ceiling by Tadeusz Popiel. On the second floor, in the former office of the court president, there is a unique ceiling decorated with a painting on canvas depicting an allegorical image of Justice. The scene was painted in oil on canvas by Tadeusz Popiel. This is the only example of this type of ceiling decoration among Lviv's public buildings. Today, the building is used as a teaching building for Polytechnic University. The research materials are planned to be used to prepare scientific and project documentation for the restoration of the monument.
