PERSPECTIVES AND SPECIFIC FEATURES OF THE USE OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS FOR STRENGTHENING OF DAMAGED REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES

The need for strengthening of existing structures has recently become topical. Composite materials due to their remarkable properties, possibility to adaptation to the design requirements and facilitation of restoration measures are widely used for strengthening. This article is focused on review of restoration approaches with the use of composite materials and specific features of their behavior under various impacts. Study includes analysis of recent studies in the area, identifying gaps of knowledge and perspectives for further research.

EXPERIMENTAL TESTING METHODOLOGY OF STRESS-STRAIN STATE OF THE REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPE WITH STRENGTHENING

Reinforced concrete pipes are exposed to environmental influences during the entire period of their operation.  As a result, defects and damage appear and reduce durability and bearing capacity. In this regard, there is a need to repair and strengthen them. In order to assess the effectiveness of strengthening reinforced concrete pipes, it is necessary to get data about deformations that appeared as a result of the loads on the reinforced concrete pipe.

The research and analysis of technical conditions, deflections, and bearing capacity of subjected to fire impact reinforced concrete slabs of raised panel per room” typical design model 1-480a of a five-storey residential building in Lviv are present.

EFFECTIVENESS OF STRENGTHENING OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS WITH THE USE OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS

Wide spread of RC structures in construction projects indicates the necessity of their service life prolongation. Perspective possibility to increase strength of RC structures is use of external composite tapes. The article presents theoretical research on the effectiveness of strengthening of RC bended elements with the use of composite tapes. Work also includes comparative analysis on the basis of calculations, according to normative regulations.

STRENGTHENING AND REPAIRING THE SERVICEABILITY OF REINFORCED CONCRETE CONSTRUCTIONS: A REVIEW

The main structures of modern buildings are using a RC constructions. Timely work on strengthening and restoration of building structures is very important in practice. There are many accumulations with many different ways and constructive methods of strengthening RC constructions in different conditions of application. This article describes the modern methods and innovative materials for the strengthening and repairing of RC structures.

NUMERICAL ANALYSIS FOR COMPRESSED CERAMIC HOLLOW BRICK MASONRY COLUMNS STRENGTHENED WITH GFRP MESHES

This article presents the analysis of obtained experimental results for the study of masonry columns which have been strengthened by GFRP confinement after high-level axial compression loading. Ceramic hollow-brick middle-scale models were investigated regarding assumed testing program. The basics of experimental studies were briefly described in the paper. Theoretical study was performed to compare experimental and theoretical values.

Development of Strengthened Bioactive Calcium Phosphate-Silicate Glass Ceramics for Bone Implants

Cumulative experience in the field of development of bioactive glass ceramics for bone implants and methods of strengthening thereof have been analyzed. Compositions were selected and model glasses were synthesized, the relationship between viscosity and crystallization ability of glass ceramics has been studied. Composite materials based on the glass ceramics and zirconia have been synthesized, their mechanical properties studied, and feasibility of their use in the creation of bone implants has been established.

THE BASIC STOCHASTIC PARAMETERS IN ASSESSING OF THE RELIABILITY OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS STRENGTHENED BY ADDITIONAL REINFORCEMENT BARS

Today there are many scientific and technical knowledge that make construction a reliable, fast and economical. To provides a safe and durable (the fundamental components of reliability) of builnings and structures are developed the methods of reliability theory. Improving the methods of calculation is enables researchers and designers to create effective structures with a preset (expedient) level of reliability, which directly affects to an amount of required materials and, appropriately, a cost of future building objects in general.

STRENGTH OF THE REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS, STRENGTHENED BY THE PRESTRESSED REINFORCING BARS

This article describes strengthening normal cross-section of reinforced concrete beams with prestressed reinforcement under load. The samples of RC beam with 2100 mm. length, 100 mm width, and 200 mm height was tested. As beam’s tension reinforcement A500C Ø12 mm rebar was chosen. A240C Ø8 mm rebar was chosen as compressed reinforcement. Transverse reinforcement – A240C Ø8 mm rebar located in the supporting area with step 50–100 mm. Class of the concrete was C32/40. The beams were tested for a pure flexure. The load was added using the hydraulic cell in the thirds of the span.
