Temperature Effect on the Process of Road Bitumen Modification with Carbonized Residue from the Waste Tires Pyrolysis

The possibility of utilizing solid carbonized residue (CR) obtained in the pyrolysis of waste automobile tires (WT) was analyzed. On average, as a result of WT pyrolysis, about 36 wt. % of carbonized residue is obtained, which can serve as an adhesion additive and/or aging inhibitor in modifying petroleum bitumen. The CR obtained at a small-tonnage industrial plant and bitumen of the BND 70/100 brand produced by PJSC "Ukrtatnafta" were analyzed.

Analysis and Selection of Composite Raw Materials for Carbon Black Production

The availability and possibility of using various alternative types of raw materials for carbon black production have been analyzed. The quality of raw materials was evaluated according to the aromaticity value, correlation index, carbon content, and hydrogen content. Composite mixtures were created and tested under industrial conditions. Two programs for calculating the theoretical yield of carbon black by balance and thermochemical methods have been developed and tested.

Characteristics and Applications of Waste Tire Pyrolysis Products: A Review

The review considers the environmental problem of generation, accumulation and utilization of waste tires in Ukraine and the world. It is established that waste tires can serve as a valuable raw material for obtaining fuel components and technical/individual chemicals for further industrial processing. One of the promising methods for the rational utilization of waste tires may be their pyrolysis. The pyrolysis process of waste tires produces gaseous, liquid and solid carbonized residue.

Use of carbonized residue from the pyrolysis process of waste tires as a modifier of road bitumen

The paper analyzes the possibility of utilizing the solid carbonized residue (SCR) from the pyrolysis of waste tires (WT). The pyrolysis process of waste tires produces about 36% of carbonized residue, which can serve as an adhesive and/or modifying additive in the processes of modifying petroleum bitumen. We analyzed the SCP and BND 70/100 bitumen produced at a small-scale industrial unit and PJSC Ukrtatnafta, respectively. The influence of solid carbonized residue on the performance properties of modified bitumen at different ratios of raw materials (BND 70/100) : SCR.

Antifrictional Polymer Composites Based on Aromatic Polyamide and Carbon Black

Antifrictional polymer composites (PC) based on aromatic polyamide and carbon black were developed. Tribological and physico-mechanical properties of these materials were studied. Influence of concentration and brand of fillers on tribological properties of developed PC was established.

Improvement of the Ecological Safety of Road Transport in the Use of Alternative Fuel and Exhaust Converters

The aim of the research was to reduce ecological danger caused by vehicles through the use of combined fuel and improved designs converters of exhaust gases. The use of obsolete structures of a catalytic analyzer on cars and the provision of periodic purging of catalytic units can significantly reduce soot emissions without making changes to the design of the engine. It was established that the use of a mixture of diesel fuel with biofuels (made involving waste) reduces the toxicity of exhaust gases by 30–35 % and saves hydrocarbons.

Analysis and choice of optimal conditions for the burning of natural gas with heated air in the reactor of carbon black obtaining

The mixing and burning of natural gas with heated air in the reactor of carbon black obtaining have been analyzed. Commercial test results for the device of partially premixed components with single-flow burner have been considered. Construction peculiarities and operational conditions of single- and multi-flow burners have been examined.

Smart conductive inks

A novel conductive ink, suitable for employment in a pressure-sensitive automatic system, was prepared and characterized via scanning electron microscopy, FTIR and differential scanning calorimetry. The ink was obtained as a composite by mixing a solution of ethyl acrylate-methyl acrylate (50/50 ratio) copolymer and carbon black and graphite into a solvent standard for acrylic polymers. The ink average electrical resistance ranges from 40 ohms/cm to 150 ohms/cm.
