seismic monitoring

Preliminary detection of seismic signal arrival by polarization feature

Research is aimed at developing methodological principles for preliminary detection of the seismic signal arrival registered by a three-component seismic station (TCSS), taking into account polarization properties of background and signal components. Methods. Seismic signals were recorded using the GURALP CMG seismic observation network of the Main Special Control Center (MSCC) of the State Space Agency (SSA) of Ukraine. Result. The main difference between a signal component of a three-component seismic record and a background is polarization properties.

Organizing of the seismic monitoring of nuclear power plants of Ukraine

The basic directions of the Action Plan to assess seismic hazard and seismic check of existing nuclear power plants, approved SNRCU and NNEGC "Energoatom", which is the basis for work on seismic monitoring systems of nuclear power plant in Ukraine are represented. The experience of expert of IGPH NAS in this field is explined. The basic principles, their aims and objectives are explined too. The spesification for the Rivne NPP is represented as an example. The situation for each of NPP is outlined for short term.

Seismic observations at the temporary stations in the area around the Zaporizhzhya NPP

Purpose – to organize a temporary network of seismic observation tool for continuous collection of information on seismic events in the area of the Zaporizhzhya NPP. Methods. In the bomb shelter in the territory dispensary Zaporizhzhya NPP, organized a temporary observation points to maintain a register of certified seismometer seismic events GURALP CMG-40TD. Choosing a place for the installation of temporary seismic observation point due to occurrence of bedrock in this place at least in the area ZAES depth (about 8 m).
