Відомо, що найважливішим для підтримання доброго здоров’я містян є збереження їхнього життя від можливих смертельних ДТП, забезпечення чистоти повітряного простору, ізолювання від надмірних шумових забруднень, електромагнітних полів. Перелічені негативні впливи генерують інтенсивні транспортні потоки, які є основною компонентою транспортних систем.

Maintaining a sense of thermal comfort, whether for safety, health or occupant thermal well-being reasons, is one of the most important goals of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. There are a significant number of physical variables that affect thermal comfort.
З урахуванням важливості часу на долання відстаней маршрутів руху транспортних засобів (ТЗ) , які пролягають по вулично-дорожній мережі (ВДМ) міста, проаналізовано відомі підходи до визначення затримок ТЗ у процесі проїзду (очікування проїзду і проїзд) регульованих перехресть. Перелічено причини, що зумовлюють ріст цих затримок і, які впливають на тривалості світлофорних циклів. Разом з цим автори обґрунтовують потребу зміни існуючого поняття «транспортна затримка».
