У статті проаналізовано систему та ознаки слідчих (розшукових дій), а також загальні вимоги до їх проведення. Зокрема, з’ясовано, що слідчі (розшукові) дії є основним засобом доказування, а саме, інструментом пізнавальної діяльності з розслідування кримінальних правопорушень.  Також  встановлено, що чинний Кримінальний процесуальний кодекс України (КПК) суттєво модернізував порядок здійснення кримінального провадження, запровадивши ще низку нових інститутів.
