Retraction Policy

General Provisions

The journal Computer Systems and Networks adheres to the principles of publication ethics and follows the recommendations of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). In cases of research misconduct or significant errors, appropriate measures are taken to ensure the integrity of the scholarly record.

Types of Editorial Actions

In cases of issues with a publication, the journal may apply the following actions:

  • Correction – for minor errors not affecting the results;
  • Erratum – for errors introduced by the editorial process;
  • Corrigendum – for errors made by the authors;
  • Expression of Concern – when there are serious concerns about the validity of the work;
  • Retraction – in cases of major ethical violations or unreliable findings.

Grounds for Retraction

An article may be retracted in the following cases:

  • fabrication or falsification of data;
  • plagiarism or duplicate publication;
  • significant errors affecting the reliability of results;
  • violations of research ethics;
  • manipulation of the peer-review process;
  • inappropriate authorship or undisclosed conflicts of interest.

Retraction Procedure

  • Retraction requests may be initiated by authors, editors, or third parties.
  • The editorial board conducts an investigation in accordance with COPE guidelines.
  • Authors are given the opportunity to respond.
  • The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or Editorial Board.

Retraction Notice

In case of retraction:

  • a formal retraction notice is published with an explanation of the reasons;
  • the original article remains accessible but is clearly marked as “Retracted”;
  • the retraction is linked to the original article and may have its own identifier (e.g., DOI).

Availability of Retracted Articles

Retracted articles are not removed from the journal archive except in cases required by law. This ensures transparency and preserves the scholarly record.
