Use of Activated Clinoptilolite for Direct Dye-Contained Wastewater Treatment

This work reveals a method of complex thermal and chemical activation of natural clinoptilolite from Sokyrnytsky deposit. The chemical activation of a mineral was carried out by HCl solutions treatment at various ratios of liquid-to-solid phases. With the use of thermal and infrared (IR) spectroscopic analyses, the adsorption property of a natural and activated clinoptilolite has been examined for water vapor. The ability of complexly activated clinoptilolite to adsorb direct dyes from their aqua solutions has been investigated.

INVESTIGATION OF THE PROCESS OF AMMONIUM ION ADSORPTION BY NATURAL AND SYNTHETIC SORBENTS BY METHODS OF MULTIDIMENSIONAL CLUSTER ANALYSIS

The results of the research of the adsorption capacity of a number of sorbents of natural and synthetic origin for ammonium ions have been clustered. The natural zeolite of the Sokyrnytsia deposit, a synthetic sorbent based on the fly ash of Dobrotvir state district heat power plant, Al2O3, SiO2, as well as some types of soil: sandy soil, black soil, and clay were used in the research. Equations describing the regularities of adsorption processes depending on the type of sorbent were obtained. According to the obtained dendrograms, two main clusters of sorbents were identified.

ADSORPTIVE DESULFURIZATION OF INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER

An alternative method of purification of aqueous sulfide-alkaline effluents from sulfide and hydrosulfide ions by their adsorption with mixed sorbents based on activated charcoal and kieselguhr has been investigated. High adsorption efficiency of mixed sorbents for purification of model sulfide- and hydrosulfide-containing solutions has been established. The dependence of the extraction degree of sulfide and hydrosulfide ions from aqueous solutions on their concentration, adsorption time and sorbent mass used has been investigated.

SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL ESSENCE OF ATTRACTIVENESS FOR THE SUBJECTS OF ENTREPRENEURIAL ACTIVITIES OF ADSORPTION EXTRACTION OF NICKEL IONS (II) BY BENTONITE CLAYS

The article considers an actual but not sufficiently developed problem of attractiveness for the subjects of entrepreneurial activity of adsorption extraction of Nickel ions (II) by bentonite clays. The basic social and psychological mechanisms for the adoption of environmentally-oriented activities are analyzed. The styles of entrepreneurs’ response to the attractiveness of adsorption extraction of Nickel ions (II) by bentonite clays are characterized. The process of sorption of Nickel ions (II) with a fixed layer of sorbent by bentonite clays is investigated.

Synthesis and properties of silica nanoparticles with functional polymer shell

Cross-linked nanocomposite hydrogels based on poly(acryl amide) and mineral nanoparticles (NP) of hydroxyapatite (HAP), ZnO, TiO2 modified by reactive polymers were synthesized via the technique of polymerization filling. It was shown that physico-mechanical properties of obtained nanocomposites are determined to a great extend by the nature of the modifier of mineral NP.

INVESTIGATION OF MIGRATION OF HEAVY METALS IN THE SOIL ENVIRONMENT ON THE EXAMPLE OF COPPER SULFATE

The problem of permanent and prolonged pollution of soils by various kinds of pollutants, in particular heavy metals, was analyzed. Experimental investigations of penetration of copper sulfate into a vertical soil profile have been carried out. The adsorption capacity of the sandy environment of copper sulfate
was experimentally determined.

ADSORPTION OF Cu (II) and Cr (III) IONS FROM AQUEOUS MEDIUM IN FIXED BED COLUMN

The adsorption of Copper (II) and Chromium (III) from aqueous solution by natural zeolite was investigated in fixed bed column. The effects of selected operating parameters such as flow rate and bed depth were evaluated. The breakthrough data are fitted well to Bed Depth Service Time (BDST) and Thomas models with high correlation coefficient, R2 = 0,91. The results showed that zeolite can be an effective adsorbent for Copper (II) and Chromium (III) removal.

FINAL-TREATMENT OF WASTEWATER FROM THE PRODUCTION OF EDIBLE OILS

The adsorption method of after-treatment of wastewater from the production of vegetable oils was investigated. The reasons of choice the activated carbon as adsorbent was justified. The statics and the kinetics of the adsorption process by activated carbon the organic component from the wastewater of oil production after extraction cleaning was investigated. The experimental data based on the theory of Freundlich and Langmuir were processed and the main constants of the process were defined.

Optimized method for measuring of positron annihilation lifetime spectra in nanomaterials with extended porosity for sensor applications

An optimized by hardware complexity method for measuring of positron annihilation lifetime spectra was proposed and used to investigation of humidity-sensitive MgO-Al2O3 ceramics with advanced nanoporosity. Positron-positronium annihilation spectrum were analyzed using four-component fitting procedures. It is shown that this technique can be used to investigation of nanopores transformation in humidity-sensitive MgO-Al2O3 ceramics as porosimetry method. It is shown that Tao-Eldrup model can be used for study of size of nanopores smaller then 1,5 nm.
