Hydrological processes modeling using GIS ARCGIS and module HEC-RAS

Aim of this research is to determine the area of land flooding according to a reasonably chosen hydrological model for a complex section of the Dniester River at the place of transition from the foothill to the plain with complex meandering and significant shifts of the river. Methods. The method of investigation of flooded areas as a result of water rise to a certain level has been processed.

Technology for building digital elevation models for creating plan of river floor

It is represented method of construction of Digital Elevation Models of river bottom. Measurement were executed double-frequency echo sounder data processing was conducted with the use of DPS “Delta”. Accurasy of DEM corresponds to the scale of topographic plane 1:5000.

The technology of digital terrain model creation on the example of defensive structures "Citadel" (Lviv)

Aim of this work is to create a digital terrain model of defensive structures “Citadel” using archival and modern cartographic data and aerial images. Objectives of the work is to develop technological scheme and describe the method of creation of digital terrain model and configuration of its 3D-visualization. Methods. Contour lines with 2m interval was created using fragment of modern topographic plan of Lviv, namely the area “Citadel” with scale 1: 5000, Altitude matrix was created on its base.

Optimizing grid spacing for DEM construction in determining the surface volume of the Antarctic coast island glaciers

Aim. Glaciological, geodetic and photogrammetric methods can be distinguished between methods of obtaining data for observations of glaciers. Photogrammetric method refers to the remote sensing methods, so its application for the study of these objects is definitely more reasonable. This is primarily conditioned by the fact that there is no need to work on the body of the glacier, which is very dangerous. In addition, the accuracy of the glaciers volume is satisfies of the glaciologist requirements by this method.

Method for determining the volume Lviv solid waste landfill by using archival mapping materials and UAV Trimble UX-5

Purpose. Lviv landfill has some features that should be considered when developing the methodology for determining the volume. The initial relief of severe fragmentation and a height difference of more than 70 meters make it is impossible to set the original horizontal plane for determining the volume. The slope of current garbage body surface ranges from 0 to 85 degrees and a vertical drop is more than 80 m. This leads to significant relief errors in carry out for aerialphotography.

Mapping of avalanche dangerous territories using GIS technologies

Purpose. Avalanching is a natural phenomenon that can cause loss of life, destructions of residential and industrial buildings, inflict losses on forestry, agriculture and tourism development in mountainous areas. Monitoring and research of potential avalanche dangerous territories is an urgent task. Geoinformation modeling plays leading role for its solving. The purpose of this paper is to create raster thematic maps of avalanching hazards on the base of analysis of certain morphometric and environmental factors of avalanching in the territory of the mountain ridge Polonyna Borzhava.
